Hyundai Motor announces bid for Hyundai Engineering


SEOUL, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Hyundai Motor Group, the world's fifth-largest automaker, said on Monday it will seek to buy Hyundai Engineering & Construction , setting up a contentious battle for South Korea's biggest builder by rival members of the Hyundai family. "Hyundai Motor Group plans to submit a letter of intent to creditor today," the company said in a regulatory filing. Preliminary bids are on Oct. 1 and final bids Nov. 12.
