STUTTGART, Germany, July 22 (Reuters) - Talks over cost cuts at German carmaker DaimlerChrysler AG have made progress and the next few hours will be decisive, Germany's IG Metall engineering workers' union said on Thursday.
A spokesman for IG Metall said progress had been made on certain points during the negotiations.
Management and worker representatives at Daimler are attempting to to broker a deal that could set a trend for longer working hours in Germany.
