Inchcape says confident of progress in 2003

LONDON, May 15 (Reuters) - British motor vehicle distributor Inchcape Plc said on Thursday it was confident of further progress in 2003 and it expected strong trading in other areas to offset market pressures in Hong Kong.

The firm said trading in the UK started the year well but the car market in Hong Kong was suffering from car tax rises and the impact of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). It expected profits in Hong Kong to be lower than last year.
