India February passenger car sales up 2.3 pct y/y

NEW DELHI, March 10 (Reuters) - Car sales in India rose 2.3 percent in February from a year earlier to 94,756 units, an industry body said on Monday.

Sales of commercial vehicles -- trucks and buses -- rose 1.7 percent to 45,059 units in February, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers said in a statement. (Reporting by Rakesh Sharma; Editing by John Mair)
