NEW DELHI, Oct 14 (Reuters) - India's biggest motorcycle maker, Hero Honda Motors Ltd. , reported a 24.2 percent rise in quarterly profit on Thursday as sales surged in the world's largest bike market after China.
The automaker, which has a 54 percent share of the nearly five million units-a-year Indian market, said it had a net profit of 1.94 billion rupees ($42.3 million) in the second quarter ended September 30, up from 1.547 billion a year earlier.
