NEW DELHI, Oct 25 (Reuters) - India's top motorcycle maker, Hero Honda Motors Ltd. , on Wednesday posted a 9.2 percent slide in quarterly profit as it battled higher costs and intense competition from No. 2 Bajaj Auto .
New Delhi-based Hero Honda, which has less than half of India's 6 million bikes a year market, said its net profit fell to 2.16 billion rupees ($47.6 million) in the fiscal second quarter to end-September from 2.38 billion a year earlier.
