India Mahindra to build new plant for Navistar JV

MUMBAI, Jan 16 (Reuters) - India's Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said on Tuesday it would build a new plant worth 25 billion rupees ($564 million) to make vehicles for its joint venture with Navistar International Corp. .

Mahindra, India's top utility vehicle and tractor maker, signed an agreement with the western state of Maharashtra for the plant which would have an initial capacity of 250,000 units, Pawan Goenka, president for automotive sector, said at a news conference.
