ROYAL OAK, MI – The official event won’t be held until this Saturday, but signs that the Woodward Dream Cruise is much more than a 1-day classic-car festival were evident last weekend. With perfect weather and reasonably light traffic, cruisers ruled Metro Detroit's most famous thoroughfare Saturday and Sunday. Events and parades are scheduled throughout the week, and spectators will stake out favorite viewing locations as Saturday's day-long celebration of displacement and sheet metal approaches. More than 1 million people are expected along several miles of Woodward.
