Audi, Jeep Run 1-2 in Most Engaging TV Ad Polling

Audi’s top-ranked ad shows a man and a woman engaged in an over-the-top brawl at some sort of political event. Spoiler: It’s about who gets to drive the Audi.

An Audi spot that offers a wry take on the election season tops the Most Engaging Auto Ads chart, powered for WardsAuto by iSpot.tv.

The ad shows a man and a woman engaged in an over-the-top brawl at some sort of political event (red, white and blue bunting and “vote” buttons are shown in the room). The twist is that their hand-to-hand combat, worthy of an action movie, is shown in reverse time, bringing us back to the moment when they first engaged so we can see what they’re fighting over.

Spoiler: It’s about who gets to drive the Audi.

The other new commercial in the rankings, at No.2, also has a political subtext. Set to the Cat Stevens song “If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out,” the ’17 Jeep Grand Cherokee ad juxtaposes different stances – for instance, one bumper sticker that reads “I (heart) animals” and another that reads “I’d rather be hunting” – and closes with an optimistic tagline: “What unites us is stronger than what divides us.”

iSpot.tv tracks TV ads in real-time and allows customers to monitor social actions, search activity and online video views associated with TV spots across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google, Bing and Yahoo!.
