The upcoming London Motor Show will feature four interactive zones including one focusing on autonomous vehicle developments.
This year’s edition at ExCeL London runs May 17-20 and will be the third annual event after the show was launched in 2016. It is organized by confused.com, a U.K. comparison website specializing in insurance and financial services.
The ExCel convention center is located on a 100-acre (40-ha) site on the northern quay of the Royal Victoria Dock in London Docklands.
Show Chairman Alec Mumford says the additional zones follow show visitors’ feedback indicating interactive elements at events are increasingly sought after and valued.
The launch of a Live Drive Arena will see visitors taking part in driving demonstrations with a range of vehicles.
Curated by the autonomous-vehicle-technology event coordinator AutoSens, the new Autonomous Zone will demonstrate what the automotive world can expect from its cars and how the future will bring major changes to the industry.
AutoSens will provide interactive displays and experiences, celebrity-led panel discussions, driverless vehicles, technology demonstrations and cutting-edge exhibition features.
U.K. automotive manufacturing will occupy a Built in Britain feature celebrating a host of British-built and designed vehicles. Brands such as Vauxhall, TVR, Noble, Eagle, Rolls-Royce, Nissan and Lister have confirmed their involvement.
After displaying the 2017 World Car of the Year, the Jaguar F-Pace, at last year’s event, the show is expanding this feature with a collection of previous winners of the award, as well as some of this year’s contenders.
Unlike many shows, exhibitors will be set up to sell vehicles at the event.
