Elizabeth II's Bentley Joins Ranks of Pre-Owned Cars

Top speed is 184 mph, but the Mulsanne was gently handled from 2012-2014, when the Queen used it during her Diamond Jubilee celebrations and to attend her first-ever cabinet meeting hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing St.

For sale: ’12 Bentley Mulsanne limousine. One owner, 5,000 miles (8,000 km). Asking £200,000 ($285,400). SatNav system requires recalibration from Windsor Castle, London. Inquire via Auto Trader; please do not contact Buckingham Palace.

Perhaps you’ve guessed by now that Queen Elizabeth II’s ride is for sale. Was, anyway. It’s been sold to an anonymous U.K. buyer for an undisclosed sum, Auto Trader spokeswoman Kieren Puffett tells WardsAuto in an email Wednesday.

Hand-assembled at the Bentley factory in Crewe, 180 miles (290 km) northwest of London, Her Majesty had exclusive use of the automaker’s top-of-the-line limo powered by a 6.75L, 500 hp-plus engine capable of reaching 60 mph (97 km/h) in just over 5 seconds.

Top speed is 184 mph (296 km/h), but the hunter-green Mulsanne was gently handled from 2012-2014, when the Queen used it during her Diamond Jubilee celebrations and to attend her first-ever cabinet meeting hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing St.

Bespoke features include walnut-burr-veneered picnic tables, door panels and rear-quarter vanity mirrors; Bentley emblems embroidered on all seats; and a full leather interior. Plus, air conditioning.

Now with 5,826 miles (9,380 km) following its retirement from royal service, the Mulsanne was offered for sale by a dealership based in Bramley, Surrey.

“What makes this Bentley particularly stand out is that it was reserved exclusively for use by Her Majesty and it has gone on sale in the year the Queen celebrates her 90th birthday,” Karolina Edwards Smajda, retailer and consumer products director-Auto Trader, says in a statement.
