GM Spending Plan to Add 300 Jobs at Michigan Plant

The latest investment is part of a bigger $5.4 billion spending plan the automaker announced April 30 for its U.S. plants. It already has identified programs covering about $3 billion of that allotment.

General Motors says it will create 300 jobs with its latest investment plan that will see $119 million in new tooling and equipment installed at its Grand Rapids Operations parts plant.

The facility currently employs 500 people on three shifts and produces a variety of machined engine components. GM says it will release details on timing of the investment and what products will be involved at a later date.
