Infiniti takes the lead in iSpot.tv’s rankings of the most-watched automotive commercials with a spot for the ’17 QX60 in which a forgetful husband has to make several grocery trips to prepare for the holiday meal – but with his Infiniti, it’s no trouble at all.
Among car ads, iSpot.tv says the Infiniti spot racked up the highest number of impressions across national broadcast and cable TV airings between Nov. 13 and 19.
The ad promotes the company’s “Start Your Own Legacy Winter Event” during which qualified customers can lease the model for $399/month or finance at 1.9% APR.
At No.2 is Mitsubishi, which previously led the chart with a shorter version of the ad for the ’17 Outlander shown here. This 30-second spot outlines the model’s myriad features, including blindspot warning, forward collision mitigation and standard third-row seating.
Nissan’s Star Wars-themed commercial slips from second to third place this time around. The company encourages customers to “master the drive” with Nissan’s Black Friday sales event during which discounted leases on the ’17 Rogue are available – and it reminds viewers that “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” comes to theaters Dec. 15.
Fourth place goes to Land Rover for an ad that has the best iSpot Attention Index (141) in the rankings, getting 41% fewer interruptions than the average auto ad (interruptions include changing the channel, pulling up the guide, fast-forwarding or turning off the TV). This heartwarming spot shows how two parents make their little girl’s dream of a white Christmas come true with some help from the ’17 Discovery.
BMW closes out the top-five list with a commercial that puts a focus on family and one road that never changes – the road home. During the “Road Home Sales Event,” customers can get a $3,000 credit on the ’18 BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance.
