Volvo Names New Marketing Chief

New Volvo marketing chief Alain Visser succeeds Doug Speck, who is leaving the Swedish auto maker to pursue new opportunities.

Volvo Cars appoints Alain Visser as its new senior vice president-marketing, sales and customer service.

Visser succeeds Doug Speck, who is leaving the Swedish auto maker to “pursue a new career opportunity in the U.S.,” Volvo says in a statement.

Speck played an integral role in establishing Volvo’s sales and customers service divisions in China, which the auto maker has targeted as a growth market.

Volvo says due to Speck’s performance in China, it has asked him to serve as a consultant through the rest of the year.

Visser, a former Adam Opel executive, joined Volvo Cars in 2012 as vice president-sales and marketing.
