Italy's Brembo says 2002 sales up 5-9 pct

By Stefano Rebaudo MILAN, Jan 23 (Reuters) - Italian brake systems specialist Brembo said on Thursday its 2002 sales had risen by up to nine percent, thanks to strong demand for its high-range products despite a weak auto sector. Brembo's sales last year rose to 560-580 million euros from 531 euros in 2001, business development head Roberto Vavassori, told Reuters, adding that "the group was hurt by the drop in the motorcycle market and because of the auto market in general."
