Japan car lobby sees US market under 14.5 mln in '08

TOKYO, Sept 18 (Reuters) - The U.S. car market is likely to fall short of 14.5 million vehicles in sales this year while Japanese demand is seen coming in below an initially forecast 5.3 million vehicles, Satoshi Aoki, chairman of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, said on Thursday.

U.S. light vehicle sales totalled 16.15 million units in 2007. (Reporting by Nobuhiro Kubo)
