Malaysia's Khazanah raises stake in Proton

KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (Reuters) - Malaysian state investment arm Khazanah Nasional Bhd has raised its stake in Proton to nearly 35 percent in a move that could trigger an offer for all of the national car maker's shares.

Khazanah bought 4.3 percent of Proton, the car maker told the stock exchange in a statement late on Tuesday, hiking its stake to 34.8 percent. (US$1 = 3.8 ringgit)
