FRANKFURT, Jan 15 (Reuters) - German trucks and engineering group MAN said on Thursday the pre-tax loss at its ailing bus division would come in significantly below 42 million euros ($53 million) in 2003.
The group had said it was aiming to halve the pre-tax loss at the unit in 2003 from 84 million euros in 2002.
MAN, which has been busy overhauling its core commercial vehicles business, said earlier its revenues slipped last year after it sold its SMS industrial equipment unit but said 2003 profits would be higher even without the sale proceeds.
