VIENNA – General Motors appoints Tom Anliker managing director-Cadillac Europe effective Jan. 1.

Anliker currently serves as managing director-Chevrolet Suisse, the brand’s distribution company in Switzerland.

In his new position, he will report to Susan Docherty, president and managing director-Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe.

“We are pleased to have a seasoned GM executive taking over Cadillac’s European operations at a crucial point in time,” Docherty says in a statement. “Tom brings with him a wealth of experience from various leadership positions that he held for GM in Europe and overseas.”

A native of Switzerland, Anliker began his career with the auto maker in 1989.

Anliker will succeed Wolfgang Schubert, who has led Cadillac Europe operations since 2006. He has elected to retire from GM after a 23-year career.
