WASHINGTON, May 8 (Reuters) - Rupert Murdoch, whose News Corp. media empire is seeking to buy satellite television service DirecTV, said on Thursday he would approach rival EchoStar Communications Corp. to discuss sharing costs for satellite capacity needed to air local channels.
