N.A. car battery shipments mixed Jan-Oct 2002--BCI

NEW YORK, March 10 (Reuters) - North American shipments of replacement automotive batteries in the first 10 months of 2002 rose 3.01 percent, compared with the Jan.-Oct. 2001 period, while original equipment auto battery shipments fell 0.17 percent, Battery Council International (BCI) said.

A BCI report issued late on Friday said replacement battery shipments from January through October 2002 reached 73,994,910 units, while original equipment shipments totaled 17,233,692 ...
