TOKYO, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Demand for new motor vehicles in Japan rose for the first time in six months in September, helped by last-minute buying of trucks before the introduction on Wednesday of stricter diesel-emission rules in the Tokyo region.
Sales of new cars, trucks and buses rose 1.5 percent from a year earlier to 572,138 units, data from two industry groups showed. It was the highest monthly sales figure this year.
