New York says U.S. tourist confidence in city rising

NEW YORK, May 14 (Reuters) - The ranks of U.S. tourists who feel comfortable about visiting New York have swelled by 46 percent since the start of the war in Iraq, the city's tourism marketing organization said on Wednesday.

"More and more people are willing to travel, and they feel good about traveling," Cristyne Nicholas, president and chief executive of NYC & Company, said in an interview.
