LOS ANGELES, July 17 (Reuters) - Defense contractor Northrop Grumman Corp. , which makes the B-2 bomber and the unmanned Global Hawk spy plane, said on Wednesday quarterly earnings rose on its $2.1 billion acquisition of shipbuilder Newport News.
The firm, which completed the Newport deal early this year, said second-quarter profit reached $182 million, or $1.53 per share, up from earnings of $175 million, or $2.01 per share a year earlier.
