American Suzuki Motor Corp. names Gene Brown vice president-marketing and public relations.

Tom Carney, currently in the role, will shift to a senior role as vice president-sales, Suzuki says.

Brown previously was model line manager-pickups for Nissan North America Inc.

Chuck Halper is named to the new position of vice president-quality and service. He will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s customer service satisfaction, including improving customer retention rates.

Halper comes from Hyundai Motor America, where he was vice president-service.

Suzuki says Brown and Halper have a combined 50 years of experience in the auto industry.

“Gene and Chuck are the kinds of experienced executives on which this company prides itself, and we look forward to their leadership in helping Suzuki continue its increasing levels of success,” Koichi Suzuki, president-American Suzuki, says in a statement.
