GENEVA – Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. and SZ Design are teaming up on their third specialty car collaboration, which will be unveiled at this week’s Geneva auto show.

The Vanquish Roadster is the work of SZ Design’s Andrea Zagato, and his signature styling is evident in the car’s sophisticated bodywork and attention to materials and colors inside the cabin.

The open roadster comes with a retractable soft top for driving in inclement weather.

Vanquish Roadster production run could exceed 99 units.

CEO Ulrich Bez may change Aston Martin’s limited-run marketing strategy with the new Vanquish Roadster.

Previous specialty models such as the DB7 Zagato coupe and American Roadster 1 have been limited to production runs of just 99 units. Those two cars were huge successes. The Zagato coupe’s entire run long since has been delivered, and production has just wrapped up on the American Roadster 1.

This time, Aston Martin says it may extend the limit beyond 99 units, depending on public reaction to the Vanquish Roadster in Geneva.
