Kathy Sullivan is a veteran of three space shuttle missions.
Former National Aeronautics and Space Admin. astronaut Kathy Sullivan, the first American woman to walk in space, and a veteran of three Space Shuttle missions, described the feeling Monday at a press conference outlining the latest accomplishments of the Convergence Education Foundation, which focuses on developing meaningful learning opportunities for students and teachers in the areas of engineering, science and mathematics.
Convergence is all about cars and electronics, but promoters also like to point out that the extra money the conference has been generating in recent years, about $1 million per conference, goes to the CEF.
Sullivan now is president and CEO of the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), and discussed COSI’s newest program that will be funded by CEF.
