Australia’s new-vehicle sales in May continued their steady climb this year, soaring 18.3% ahead of like-2009 to 89,218 units, with gains in all segments. The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries says the results beat May 2008’s benchmark by 578 units. “This shows the new-vehicle market is maintaining a strong sales momentum,” FCAI CEO Andrew McKellar says in a statement. “All vehicle segments increased during the month, demonstrating a genuine recovery in the marketplace.” SUVs ...
