Mike Cook, 30-year-race veteran, will drive a modified 2000 Pontiac Bonneville in his attempt to set a Stock Class land-speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats, during August's Bonneville Speedweek event. Mr. Cook is confident the slightly-modified 3.8L V-6 can annul John Raines' current land-speed record of 209.21 mph, set in 1998 in a Pontiac Firebird.
