GM's decision to stop production of large rear-wheel-drive passenger cars after the 1996 model year will give the law-enforcement community one less squad car choice in an ever-dwindling marketplace. With the Caprice out of the mix, Ford's Crown Victoria is the last traditional cop car left, and its days reportedly are numbered. A Chrysler source tells WAW it's toying with the idea of filling the void with front-drive LH full-size cars. Chrysler already has supplied LHs to a few police organizations for ad hoc evaluation.
