China will introduce stricter export regulations starting March 1, the country’s official news agency Xinhua reports.
The new rules will include a licensing system aimed at eliminating auto manufacturers too small to compete on the world market.
Xinhua says 1,025 Chinese enterprises were involved in vehicle exports in 2005. Of those, more than 600 shipped fewer than 10 vehicles, while another 160 exported just one vehicle each.
