Chinese Market Continues Upward Trend as January Sales Surge

China's passenger-car sales soared 84.2% in January to 1,218,722, giving the industry a flying start toward the 17 million-unit forecast for the full year, the China Passenger Car Assn. reports.

The government-owned China Daily newspaper quotes CPCA Secretary General Rao Da as saying the month’s result also was up 5.1% from December.
