CVTs to Proliferate at Subaru, But Not Part of Specific Strategy

DETROIT – With the newly launched ’10 Legacy and Outback models, Subaru maker Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. ends a 16-year absence of its continuously variable transmissions in the American market.

And while CVTs will proliferate at Subaru, unlike some competitors, the auto maker doesn’t have a specific CVT strategy, a Subaru of America Inc. official says here.
