Most U.S. and Canadian auto dealers forecast their revenues to increase this year by an average of 15%, according to a survey done for The Reynolds and Reynolds Co., a major automotive information technology firm.

Of more than 706 dealers surveyed, 64% expect revenue to rise this year. Also, 33% of U.S. and 20% of Canadian dealerships plan to add locations or franchises in 2002.

In addition to increasing revenue, many dealerships say '02 priorities include increasing customer retention numbers, improving employee training and making better use of technology for service reminders, loyalty programs, direct marketing, lead management and Web marketing activities.
