U.S. light-vehicle deliveries averaged only 43,531 units on each of 26 selling days last month, marking the worst July daily sales rate in 25 years.
The pace represented a nearly 20% reduction from like-2007 and an 11.8% falloff from June levels.
July’s industry LV sales total of 1,131,812 units equates to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 12.5 million units, the lowest monthly SAAR since April 1992.
