Dodge Challenger SRT8 to Start Below $38,000

Chrysler LLC says its new ’08 Dodge Challenger SRT8 will begin arriving at dealerships next spring with a starting price of $37,995, which includes a $695 destination charge.

The first models will be limited-edition Challenger SRT8s with numbered dash plaques.

The high-performance Challenger SRT8 boasts a 6.1L Hemi V-8 engine and will be available in black, silver and Hemi orange. All will feature dual hood stripes in a nod to the original Dodge Challenger.

Customers can begin placing orders at Dodge dealers Dec. 3, Chrysler says.

Details and pricing for the complete Dodge Challenger lineup will be announced at a later date.
