Fisker Inks Deal with European Distributor

The Emil Frey Group handles multiple premium brands and boasts more than 100 retail centers, with locations in Switzerland, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.

Fisker Automotive Inc. inks a deal with the Emil Frey Group, a European auto distributor, to import, market and service its premium plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles on the continent.

The Emil Frey Group handles multiple premium brands and boasts more than 100 retail centers, with locations in Switzerland, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.

The deal is expected to provide Irvine, CA-based Fisker with a strong operational base in Europe.

“We are pleased to partner with the Emil Frey Group to bring advanced technology vehicles to the European market,” Marti Eulberg, Fisker vice president-global sales and marketing, says in a statement.

Fisker plans on importing the Karma luxury PHEV– the auto maker’s first U.S. offering due later this year – to Europe, Eulberg says.

The auto maker already signed distribution deals with the Nellemann Group in Copenhagen and GP Supercars in Merano, Italy.

Fisker last week confirmed it will acquire the former General Motors Corp. plant in Wilmington, DE, which could be home to at least two Fisker Automotive Inc. PHEV programs after 2016.
