Fisker Taps Doolan to Lead Global Retail Development

Doolan will provide strategic counsel and input to the retail practice of the auto maker’s overall growth objectives.

Fisker Automotive Inc., a partnership between Irvine, CA-based Fisker Coachbuild LLC and Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. to build premium hybrid vehicles, names Vic Doolan to lead its global retail development.

Doolan will provide strategic counsel and input to the retail practice of Fisker Automotive’s overall growth objectives, the auto maker says.

Doolan has held senior executive positions with BMW AG, Volvo Car Corp. and Ford Motor Co.’s Premier Automotive Group. Most recently, he served as president of Volvo Cars North America LLC.

“Fisker Automotive is embarking on a major environmental movement within the auto industry, and I believe in both the success and impact it will have,” Doolan says in a statement. “I plan to engage and establish retail partners to truly make a difference to the consumer, their experience and the environment that surrounds them.”

Doolan also currently holds positions as the non-executive chairman of Courtland Automotive Practice (USA) LLP and non-executive director of Sonic Automotive. Additionally, he is director of Blue Fire Ethanol Inc. and ZAG Inc.

Fisker plans to formally unveil its first hybrid car in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Called the Fisker Quantum Hybrid, the new vehicle is a 4-door premium sport sedan with plug-in hybrid-electric capability.
