Ford Adds to Aligned Business Framework

Ford says it is expanding the program into the materials and services purchasing side of its business.

Ford Motor Co. adds five new suppliers to its “Aligned Business Framework” program, bringing the total number of preferred suppliers to 41.

The new suppliers are:

  • Continental Automotive Systems
  • EWIE Co. Inc.
  • MAG Industrial Automation Systems
  • Penske Logistics
  • Walbridge Aldinger

The ABF, announced in September 2005, is designed to strengthen relationships and collaborations between Ford and its suppliers. Additionally, the program will cut Ford’s key supplier base in half, while growing business with select parts makers.

Ford says it is expanding the program into the materials and services purchasing side of its business.

To date, six suppliers already have seen $1.8 billion in new long-term contracts or existing contracts extended over many years after entering the ABF program, Ford says.
