Ford Motor Co. announces its ’07 F-150 will have a best-in-class payload capacity of 3,050 lbs. (1,384 kg) and a towing capacity of 11,000 lbs. (4,990 kg).

Meanwhile, the auto maker says its upcoming ’08 Super Duty, when properly equipped, will have a fifth-wheel towing capacity of more than 24,000 lbs. (10,886 kg), 7,000 lbs. (3,175 kg) more than its closest competitor. It also will be able to haul 6,000 lbs. (2,722 kg), Ford says.

Despite more standards features, such as a trailer hitch, 18 in. wheels, auxiliary radio input jack, rear seat ducts and dual-zone electronic temperature control, the ’08 F-250 Super Duty will range from $23,305 for a Regular Cab XL 4x2 to $38,425 for a top-of-the-line F-250 Crew Cab Lariat.

For the ’07 model year, the same configurations are priced at $23,455 and $38,670, respectively.
