Ford Thailand Promises Speedy Delivery

Ford Thailand says it will deliver parts to dealerships nationwide within 24 hours or they will be free of charge.

Ford Sales & Service (Thailand) Co. Ltd. is taking a play from the pizza business as part of a new aftersales service program.

While pizza companies offer home delivery in 30 minutes or the pie is free, Ford Thailand says it will deliver parts to dealerships nationwide within 24 hours or they will be free of charge.

Ford Customer Service Vice President Wichit Wongwatthanakan tells the Bangkok Post the program will be launched officially in September and has been made possible by the adoption of Ford's parts-and-accessories computer system (Panda) to handle real-time inventory tracking, management and distribution of parts in the Asia/Pacific region.

The parts guaranteed under the program include more than 4,000 critical and common items in six essential groupings: scheduled service maintenance, brake parts, suspension and steering, electrical and air-conditioning, powertrain and body and collision.

The guarantee covers Ford's entire lineup from 2006 to the current model year.

Vehicles eligible for the program must be repaired at an authorized Ford dealership.

Wichit says if parts are unavailable in Thailand, Ford will source them from other countries in the Asia/Pacific region by taking the nearest available source and the lowest cost into consideration.
