General Motors Powertrain Europe's new vice president and general manager, David Piper, reportedly was hit and killed Sunday, July 31, while riding his bicycle in the hills above the GM unit's headquarters in Turin, Italy. Piper, 47, was found about 100 ft. (30.5 m) from where he was struck by a car at about 1 p.m. Sunday while riding his bicycle between Susa and Turin.
