GM Invests in Fairfax for Malibu

The $208 million will be used to expand the plant’s body shop and to purchase new tooling.

General Motors Corp. says it will pour $208 million into its Fairfax, KS, assembly plant to produce the all-new ’08 Chevrolet Malibu.

The money will be used to expand the plant’s body shop and to purchase new tooling for the Malibu. The facility currently builds the Malibu, Malibu Maxx and Saturn Aura and employs 2,900 workers.

The new Malibu will make its public debut in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
