He begins his new duties with GM's public policy office this month. The attorney will have a voice in GM's policy in international trade issues, including the automotive trade imbalance with Korea.

He was involved in meetings on the issue with U.S. officials earlier this year. During his two years with GM Korea, Mr. Jerome was involved in the transition phase of GM's Asia/Pacific expansion program and helped establish five sales and service outlets for GM and Saab cars.

He oversaw development of the GM Auto World dealerships in Korea and its transfer of ownership to an independent Korean entrepreneur. He also played an unofficial role in GM's negotiations with bankrupt Daewoo Motor Co. Ltd.
