GM RWD Cars on Hold Under Threat of CAFE Hikes

NEW YORK – General Motors Corp. is putting on hold some planned rear-wheel-drive vehicles as a result of potential increases in federal fuel economy requirements, a top executive says.

“We’ve pushed the pause button. It’s no longer full speed ahead,” Vice Chairman Bob Lutz says in an interview at the auto show here.
