Hirotec Develops Lighter-Weight Crash Beam

Hirotec America Inc. says it has perfected a manufacturing process for a door crash beam that achieves a nearly 35% weight reduction vs. traditional methods.

Utilizing its C3 (clean, cost-effective, cold-welding) magnetic-pulse welding procedure, Hirotec has created a hybrid crash beam composed of aluminum and steel, two dissimilar metals that are difficult to join using traditional welding methods.
