PARIS – Government scrappage incentives in Germany did not help the German brands as a group this year, although Volkswagen is a big exception, but incentives in France do seem to have helped the local makers gain market share.
Car sales in Germany were up 20% in November, and German brands accounted for 69% of the total, according to the VDA industry association.
