More stories related to Geneva Motor Show TURIN – ItalDesign SpA will pull the shroud back on a new SUV concept for Mitsubishi Motors Corp. at the Geneva auto show next month.

Called the Nessie, the concept is designed to run on hydrogen fuel and was developed with Mitsubishi and Germany’s Linde Group. The result is a massive, yet compact and friendly looking, vehicle with clean lines – and a clean V-8 engine.

The 2-door fastback seats four people.

ItalDesign is rolling out the concept in an attempt to send two messages: First, that it has – or would like to have – a long-term cooperative deal with Mitsubishi. Second, that it is continuing to pay attention to the evolution of both the SUV market and advanced technology such as hydrogen power.

The Nessie is one of four concepts ItalDesign will have at the show. It also is responsible for the full-scale models Alfa Romeo SpA will unveil of its new Brera and 159 cars, as well as a special version of the New Croma that will be unleashed by Fiat Auto SpA.
