Jeep Builds Scrambler Pickup

Chrysler Group's Jeep division will build a pickup based on the Wrangler platform, dubbed the Scrambler. It is already sold overseas for military use, but will hit dealer showrooms in 2004 as an '05 model, reports say.

Chrysler's Jeep plant in Toledo, OH, will build the Scrambler, based on a stretched version of Wrangler. Both 4- and 6-cyl. engines will be available, with production expected to reach 20,000 units annually.
