Magna to End Saab Output in December

Production of the convertible’s bodies in the body-in-white department already has been stopped.

GRAZ, Austria – Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik AG & Co. KG will phase out production of the Saab 9-3 convertible over the next few weeks.

Output already has stopped in the body shop, and the last car is expected to roll off the final assembly line in early December.

Saab Automobile AB intends to shift production of the 9-3 convertible to its own plant in Trollhattan, Sweden, in early 2010.

Magna Steyr launched serial production of the car in July 2003.
